Infrared Analysis: Mechanical Equipment Analysis

Tired of the Guesswork?

We've Got the Answer!
Back to Infrared Overview

Identify and Correct Problems to Save Needless Down Time and Expenditures!

The use of thermographic equipment on mechanical applications is an excellent means of identifying problem. Mechanical Equipment Infrared Analyses have saved clients millions of dollars in lost production and down time. It is an excellent predictive and preventive maintenance tool to locate problems before they get out of hand.

There are several different applications for the use of Infrared on Mechanical Systems:

Heat build-up due to excessive friction - overheated bearings in motors, generators, or compressors.

Temperature build-up due to problems with the flow of electrical current - loose connections, overloading or overheating of circuits, transformers, and motors. Infrared Surveys will also reveal temperature differentials, indicating problems in the flow of steam, water, or air currents, as in blocked steam lines, malfunctioning steam traps, or clogged heat exchanger tubes.

Thermal insulation effectiveness - boiler refractory, insulation in steam lines, ovens, kilns, and furnaces.

Can you afford not to incorporate a Mays Infrared Survey into your PPM Program?
