Using Cad Drawings (Whip!) in Crystal Reports
The cad drawings in
the program are accessed using a program called Whip!
If you have not already loaded the Whip! plug-in on your computer refer to getting
started on Page 1 of the RAM User Guide. Whip!
allows you to pan, zoom, and save the drawing image files on your computer. Figure A1 is a screen shot of these options. These options can be selected by clicking the
right mouse button on the screen when you have a drawing (image) open. Drawings cannot be changed in the program so do
not worry about making changes to them.

Pan:
This tool allows you to pick a point on the screen and
drag the
image around. Click on the screen and hold
down with the left
mouse button. Drag the image around and let
go of the left mouse
button when image is where you want it.
Zoom:
This tool allows you to zoom in and out of the image by picking
a point on the screen. Right click on the
screen and select the
Zoom option. Pick a point on the screen to
zoom in or out of.
Click with your left mouse button and hold it down while
dragging your mouse up/down. When you
havezoomed in or
out of where you want to be release the left mouse button.
Zoom Rectangle:
This tool allows you to zoom into a specific area of the drawing
by drawing a rectangle. Right click on the screen and select the
Zoom Rectangle option. On the screen select the area you want
to zoom in on. Left click on the screen at one corner of the area
you want to zoom into. While still holding the left mouse button
down drag a rectangle around the area you want to zoom into.
When are is enclosed by a rectangle, release the mouse button.
Fit to Window:
This tool sizes the image to fit your screen. Right
click on the screen and select the Fit to Window option.
Image will be resized to fit your screen.
Layers:
This tool allows you to turn layers on and off.Lines, text and objects are setup on
different layers in the image.If you wanted to turn a layer off you can do it through this
option.Right click on the screen and select the layers option.When the Layers window opens
(Figure A2) you can turn layers off and on by clicking on the light bulbs.A yellow light
bulb means the layer is currently on and a gray light bulb means the layer is currently
turned off. Click on the 'X' in the upper
right corner to close the Layers window.

Named Views:
This tool is currently not in use. Use of this tool will not affect anything.
Location:

Copy:
The Copy tool allows you to copy the image for insertion
into another program. Right click on screen
and select the Copy option. Open another
program (i.e. Microsoft Word, or any program that will accept an image file) and paste the
image.
Print:
The Print tool allows you to print the image exactly as
seen on the screen. Right click on the screen
and select the Print option. Follow the
dialogue box directions to print the image.
Save As:
The Save As option allows you to save the image file on your computer. Right click on the screen and select the Save As
option. A dialogue box will open that will
let you select where you want to save the file to, and what kind of file to save as. Save As will let you save in three different file
types.
1. Autodesk
Drawing Web Format (*.dwf)
2. Windows
Bitmap (*.bmp)
3. Autocad
Drawing (*.dwg)
Do not save in Autocad Drawing (*.dwg)
format because you do not have the proper files on your computer to use this option. Save the image file as either an Autodesk Drawing
Web Format (*.dwf) file or a Windows Bitmap (*.bmp) file.
The .dwf format requires either the Whip! plug-in for Internet Explorer or
Autodesks VoloView Express to view the image file.
The .bmp format can be opened by any imaging program that can support the Windows
Bitmap file extension.
Forward & Back:
These options act the same as the Forward and Back Button in Internet Explorer.
